Lancaster Photo Walk – HDR
I had the great fortune to take some time last week and do a short photo walk of Lancaster. I really wanted to find something with a lot of texture, but I was more interested moving to stay warm to really take time to examine the buildings, fences, and streets. I don’t know why, but Rich and I seem to pick cold days to do this sort of thing on. In any case, it was great fun and will have to shorten the time in between getting together. We were out shooting for fun and for brackets for HDR processing.
I took some extra time using Photomatix and PS on this one. This is a HDR image of 15 images. Give me some feedback on what you think. I tried to keep it “real” with the outcome of the image but allow for the processing to put additional emphasis on the details of the stonework.
I’ve had the opportunity to watch some videos by +Trey Ratcliff on his HDR technique. If you’re getting started with HDR or want to learn more about it, his website is a great resource (and he’s a nice guy!).

The textures in the stonework are really striking. They contrast nicely with the clouds. They two spots of red (the doors and the brick building) make a nice juxtaposition with the greys of the stones and the spot of blue in the sky. Nice work!
Thanks Wendy! I appreciate it.
Looks good!
